The Ashanti Regional Police have arrested one of the suspected robbers who shot and killed a police officer at a hotel at Denkyembuoso, near Kumasi.
The suspect, Abena Serwaa, 28, is said to be the mastermind behind the robbery which led to the death of Corporal Frank Essel.
Two other suspects are still on the run.
At a press briefing Monday, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Ampofo Duku said Maame Serwaa was the one who hired the two other suspects to rob the hotel.
He said following the arrest, an amount of GH¢1,487, substances believed to be marijuana and medical supplies were retrieved from the suspect.
The police say they are hopeful Abena Serwaa will assist them to arrest the two who committed the robbery and also killed the police officer.
