Pressure is mounting on the embattled acting Director of the Information Service Department (ISD) to resign over the controversial error-ridden Ghana @59 Independence Anniversary Brochure.

The angry workers of ISD are accusing their acting Director, Francis Kwarteng Arthur of fraud and are demanding his removal from office.

The workers have sent a petition to the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to lead the crusade for Mr Arthur's removal.

The acting Director has taken responsibility for the Anniversary brochure which in many ways has made Ghana a laughing stock among her peers.

The 30-page document, which referred to Kenya's president Uhuru Kenyatta as Ghana's president, is also riddled with grammatical errors, factual inaccuracies and a hollow attempt to impress with words.

The mistakes have only gotten many Ghanaians angry and embarrassed. The most affected were staff of ISD who initially were accused of producing the error-ridden brochure.

After forcing their boss to take back a terse apology he issued on behalf of ISD workers, the workers have moved a notch higher, asking for his removal.

On Wednesday the workers told Joy News' Kwabena Owusu Ampratwum they cannot work with a man who takes instructions from Stan Dogbe, head of Communications Bureau at the presidency.

The presidential staffer was not left out in the line of fire. The workers say ever since Stan Dogbe was appointed, work at the ISD has stalled.

They want Mr Kwarteng replaced with a more competent person who will not be pushed around by Dogbe.

CLOGSAG having received the petition from the ISD workers is set to investigate the concerns and take a decision.

But even before that decision will be made, the Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG Isaac Bamfoe Addo is unequivocal- Francis Kwarteng Arthur is not qualified to head the ISD and must bow out honorably.

Citing the criteria under which a person can be a director of ISD, Mr Addo said the person must have a Masters in Communications with a minimum of 15 years working experience in a media management role.

In an interview with Joy News, the Executive Director said the acting ISD Director does not meet any of the criteria set under scheme of service and should not have been appointed in the first place.

Describing the appointment as a political one, Mr Addo said the acting Director is "causing himself a lot of embarrassment" and "should do the honorable thing by resigning".

"He doesn't qualify... He has no capacity," he insisted.

God Love You And Want To see you in Heaven.
