History Breaking.... Pope Francis Break Russian Reconciliation

Pope Francis and Kirill I, Russian Orthodox Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, met in Cuba in a carefully planned encounter that both hoped would further reconciliation between the Roman Catholic and Russian Orthodox churches, which had been separated and estranged from each other since the Schism of 1054. The meeting was made possible in part by the two churches’ shared concern over the persecution of Christians in the Middle East and Africa and by the Russian Orthodox Church’s perception of Francis as being more willing than his immediate predecessors to negotiate theological differences between the faiths, particularly regarding the primacy of the pope.
