As the December election approaches, the New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s political machine is working assiduously and with a renewed sense of urgency to ensure that Presidential Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo wins on his third and possibly final attempt.

While many aides of Nana Addo are working hard in the traditional media – radio, TV, newspaper – to influence opinion on his behalf, a new group is also sweating day and night on social media to articulate his policies and vision and simultaneously criticise those of his main rival, President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Today, primesnewsghana.com brings you a list of the unsung heroes of Nana’s campaign who have taken social media by storm.

Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng

On Facebook, he is a thorn in the flesh of the NDC, employing humour and sarcasm in condemning virtually everything the government does. Since 2012, he has been persistent and unrelenting in promoting Nana as the best man for Ghana in December.

Eugene Arhin

He is the press secretary to Nana Addo and the man who provides us in the media with timely updates, including pictures and videos, on Akufo-Addo’s campaign. He is also the brain behind Nana’s brilliant use of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to propagate his messages.

Samuel Bryan Buabeng

He is popular for texting into scores of radio political talk shows in support of Nana Addo and in opposition to Mahama on a daily basis. But on social media, he has also doubled his effort to make his presidential candidate look good ahead of the polls.

Maame Afia Akoto

She is a committed and hardworking advocate of Akufo-Addo and a vociferous critic of Mahama on social media. Afia is one of the few female political activists on Facebook.

Kofi Ofosu

A social media champion of the NPP, he is one of the fiercest critics of Mahama. An unrepentant critic of the government, Kofi, who has earned the name Propaganda Secretary on Facebook, aggressively promotes Akufo-Addo’s policies on Facebook with a view to garnering more followers for the NPP. (You can tell from his face that he means business.)

Nana Prempeh Okogyeabour

A popular social media activist of the NPP, he is a fierce opponent to John Mahama. He is online every day, making him look bad as he promotes his candidate, Nana Addo.

Ama Darkwaa Baning

A ready-to-die Akufo-Addo supporter, she advocates strongly for his election in December while warning against the re-election of Mahama. She is one of the most visible female NPP activists of Facebook.

Evron Hughes

He is central to the NPP's social media strategy, especially where the issues relate to finance. He is very effective for the party on Facebook. His aggressive activism for the party caused him to be sued by a government functionary for alleged defamation.

Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe

An effective NPP communicator on social media, he does not hesitate to advocate for and defend the NPP at all times.

Nana Hesse Ogyiri

He works very hard to promote NPP policies and publicise the activities of the party on social media. He is also always excited to make life tough for the ruling party.

Mustapha Hameed

He is very passionate about the NPP and advocates strongly for Ghanaians to elect Akufo-Addo in December.

Kow Essuman

He is a member of a capable team that manages social media pages for key leaders of the party.

Kwabena Boadu

He is a member of a capable team that manages social media pages for key leaders of the party.

Raph Amegashie

He manages party websites and social media pages.

There are several NPP activists who are doing very brilliantly on social media, and who will be brought to the attention of our readers soon.
