OMG: NPP Holds Press Conference At Accra

NPPred Press Conference
Tens of angry New Patriotic Party youth have massed up at the party headquarters, Monday, hours to news conference to be addressed by the party leadership.

The NPP is incensed with the arrest and detention of Captain Koda, head of security for the party's flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo.

Captain Koda was arrested Friday in connection with the arrival in Ghana of three South Africans who were reportedly training officials of the NPP on how to provide security for VIPs particularly the flagbearer.

The South Africans were also arrested and subsequently granted bail but the BNI ignored the ruling by the Circuit Court and whisked the three back into their custody.

They have been in their custody since Thursday, Myjoyonline.com has learnt.
The party is in no mood to accept what it believes is the flagrant violation of the fundamental human rights of its security capo as well as the South Africans who it invited.

On Saturday, the acting chairman Freddy Blay announced there will be a press conference on Monday but minced no words in warning government and the BNI that the NPP will not be pushed around.

He accused government of trying to create a crisis situation in the country.
Joy News' Elton Brobbey who visited the party's headquarters Monday morning said the "atmosphere is charged" ahead of the press conference.

The youth were clad in red and chanted war songs ahead of the press conference.
The party leaders were themselves in a sea of red ready to make their next line of action known to the public.
