President John Dramani Mahama has said the Government is in the process of expanding the progressive Free Secondary Education Programme to include boarding students before the end of the year.
He said the programme would begin with students from Senior High Schools in underprivileged districts before and eventually cover those in the cities.
President Mahama said this at the 70th Anniversary-Speech and Prize Giving Day of Holy Child School in Cape Coast, at the weekend. It was on the theme, “Seventy years of Excellence in Catholic Girl Child Education”.

The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Henry A. K. Wampah has clarified that, Ramona Wampah, wife of the British fugitive drug baron, David McDermott, is his step daughter and not biological daughter as being reported.
McDermott, Britain’s most wanted fugitives was last week arrested in Accra following a three-year manhunt for his connection to a plot to smuggle cocaine worth £71m into the UK.

According to President Mahama, the opposition leader has on several occasions made some erroneous statements on national issues and he is ready to battle him any day if he avails himself.
“I am willing to debate Akufo-Addo any day...he has made a lot of contentious statements which I am willing to debate him on and I wish he was here that I could debate him today,” Mahama told TV3 in an interview Monday.

Yesterday in Cameroon, one of the most horrific things anyone can witness or hear about happened.
A pregnant woman got to the hospital in a taxi and upon arrival she was found dead, but the twins in her belly were hitting (crying for air).
The family rushed her to Laquantini Hospital in Douala Cameroon and begged the doctors to remove the babies but they refused and asked the woman's family to take her to the morgue.

Outspoken Bishop Daniel Obinim has turned his guns on Founder and General Overseer of Glorious World Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah for doubting his spiritual prowess.
The founder and General Overseer of the International God's Way Church flared up during an altercation with Rev. Owusu Bempah on Accra-based Happy FM while reacting to his [Bempah] claim of hiding behind religiosity to champion the cause of the devil.

Responding to Bishop Obinim’s insults on Happy FM’s ‘Nsem Pii’ with Nyansa Boakwa, Rev. Owusu Bempah reiterated that for Obinim to claim that he could transmogrify into a snake to bite anyone he wants, he couldn’t have been called by God and added that Obinim was getting mad.

NAIROBI - A Kenyan lawyer has offered US president Barack Obama 50 cows and other assorted livestock in exchange for his 16-year old daughter Malia's hand in marriage.
Felix Kiprono said he was willing to pay 50 cows, 70 sheep and 30 goats in order to fulfil his dream of marrying the first daughter.
"I got interested in her in 2008," Kiprono said, in an interview with The Nairobian newspaper.
At that time President Obama was running for office for the first time and Malia was a 10-year-old.
"As a matter of fact, I haven't dated anyone since and promise to be faithful to her," he said
