A man believed to be in his 60s has been beaten to pulp by the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Ashanti regional security task force policing President John Dramani Mahama on his four-day tour in the region.
The victim whose name is not immediately known was subjected to several slaps by the NDC ‘machomen’ numbering about 5 for teasing President Maham’s convoy with a wave for change.
The victim was standing by the road in a mourning cloth at a funeral at Fumso in the Adansi Asokwa Constituency when he twisted his fingers indicating the change sign.
The victim became restless and fell into a deep gutter while screaming for help as other mourners at the funeral looked on helplessly.
Eyewitnesses who were shocked at the conduct of the NDC ‘machomen’ described them as violent and intolerant.
Commenting on the incident, the Second Vice Chairman of the NDC in the region, Andrews Nana Kwasi, said ‘this is an action well executed, the guys have been given a special task’.
