Breaking News: Bukom Banku Dimissed From NDC
Hopes of popular boxer, Bukom Banku to court the attention of President John Dramani Mahama ahead of the November elections has been dashed as functionaries of the governing National Democratic Congress have rejected his style of projecting the president.
The boxer cum musician has in recent time come under severe censure from the public, particularly those on social media, following series of videos on social media projecting President Mahama and the ruling party in an “uncivilized” manner.
Despite warnings from the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketsiah, which was published on Ghanapoliticsonline.com that the party will not countenance such ‘bad-mannered’ endorsement from persons who relish projecting President Mahama, the Bukom based controversial boxer released another ‘campaign’ video revealing his butt.
Perhaps, irked by Bukom Banku’s latest video which was roundly condemned, a deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho rehashed the party’s earlier warning in an interview with Ghanapoliticsonline.com that party supporters should be mindful of the manner in which they campaign for the president.
The ‘Bull’, as the NDC Deputy General Secretary is affectionately called, warned that the party will not countenance abusive words used by any party supporter to endorse President John Mahama.
“The statement the party released last week which was signed by the General Secretary stated that anybody including Bukom Banku, that uses abusive and uncivilized words will not be accepted,” he stated in his usual ‘military-like’ tone.
Mr Anyidoho added “in as much as the NDC appreciates and continues to appreciate the massive endorsement of President Mahama by all sections of the Ghanaian Society; the use of abusive and unacceptable language shall not be accepted. The NDC is reiterating the fact that abusive language and violence is not our style of campaigning.
