It's been a remarkable journey for Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi as he wins one of the two seats available for Africa on the FIFA Council in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.
In a close-race, the Ghanaian FA leader polled 31 votes, one more than closest challenger Ahmad of Madagascar to win the seat alongside CAF’s vice president Almamy Kabele Camara of Guinea.

The Ghanaian FA leader is seeking to go a notch higher and faces competition from CAF’s vice president Almamy Kabele Camara of Guinea, his counterpart from Madagascar, Ahmad, who uses just a single name, as well as the presidents of the football associations in Niger and Senegal – Hamidou Djibrilla and Augustin Senghor respectively.

Sierra Leone FA President Isha Johansen, who was recently detained at the hands of Anti-Corruption officials, is the only woman in Africa that has a vote today.
She is a close friend to the Ghana FA boss with her vote expected to go straight to the affable lawyer.
