The Ghanaian woman currently is struggling to keep her home in the midst of the economic hardships Ghanaians are saddled with, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the presidential nominee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said.

According to her, the situation was unacceptable, therefore, needed to be reversed through a change of government from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) this year.

Interacting with market women at the Mallam Atta market in Accra as part of the NPP’s preparations towards this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections, Mrs Akufo-Addo said: “The Ghanaian woman is struggling to keep her home in the midst of our economic warfare as a country.

“My engagement with our mothers at the Mallam Atta and Mamobi markets revealed deeper understanding of the hardship we are facing than we ordinarily speak of. I formally cut the sod and dedicated a footbridge I constructed for the people of Mamobi and stressed the need to vote massively for the NPP to secure the future of our country.”

Meanwhile, her husband, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is in the Northern Region campaigning ahead of the elections.

He has promised to provide every village in the three regions in the North with a dam in order to ensure year-round farming.
