The award scheme seeks to recognise, honour and reward deserving individuals and institutions who have chosen to pursue the path of excellence and add value to their customers among others.
Mr Gideon Ofosu Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of the SAE, presenting the citation to DCOP Boakye, said he was the fourth person to be recognised under the awards scheme.
He said it was to celebrate and encourage success as well as recognise exceptional contributions of certain key individuals and organisations to the development of the nation.
Mr Adjei said the scheme sought to promote growth and improvement in the various categories of service and also serve as an avenue through which industry players would be encouraged to do their best.
He has over the years exhibited excellent leadership in policing, and his professionalism and open-door administration in the Ghana Police Service has been one of a kind.
The citation presented to DCOP Kofi Boakye reads: “Your exhibition of open door administration, hate for nepotism and tribalism, dislike for discrimination against the marginalised has since brought transformative change in the region and obviously translated into the reduction of crime rates in the region of post.”
As the Ashanti Regional Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye has spearheaded a lot of operations that have combated crime and brought notorious law breakers to book.
The Former Greater Accra Regional Commander has changed the face of policing in the Ashanti Region and has ensured that security becomes a part and parcel of development.
He was the Western Regional Police Commander for 10 months before his transfer to Kumasi.
Before he took over the administration of the Western Regional Police Command, he was the Director of Education at the Police Training School in Accra.
