Breaking News: EC Debunked NPP Accusations
The Electoral Commission (EC) says that it is mandated by law to only use the exhibition method in cleaning up the voters’ register ahead of the November 7 polls.
This follows calls by some opposition political parties and civil society groups for the validation of the current register, after their demands for a new voters’ register were rejected by the Commission.
According to Samuel Boadu, the Acting Director of Human Resources at the commission, they are mandated by law to exhibit the register as part of the process to clean it up.
“As enshrined in the CI 91 that we use, we can’t get a new register. We use exihibition to clean up the register in Ghana, let us all get on board to clean the register so that we can get a credible register this year,” he said.

Breaking News: EC Boss Called To Court
The Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, on Thursday, appeared before the Supreme Court in a case in which the Electoral Commission (EC) is being challenged over the validity of the current Voters’ Register.
Mrs. Osei was accompanied by Mrs. Georgina Opoku Amankwa, a Deputy Commissioner, and other officers of the Commission.
Her appearance is in connection with the case in which Abu Ramadan, a former Youth Organiser of the People's National Convention and Mr. Evans Nimako, have sued the EC over the validity of the current Voters’ Register.

Breaking News: 23 Soldiers Killed A Person At Kasoa
A military inquiry that investigated some 23 soldiers for their roles in the shooting and killing of one person at Kasoa Millennium City last year has cleared them of any wrongdoing.
The investigation concluded that the soldiers were only defending themselves when they shot at three people during a demolition exercise by the 21st Century Construction Company.
